| Another interesting visit is to the Bonsai Museum, where a
magnificent collection of beautiful miniature trees and forests are exhibited, many of
them well known for their beauty and centenary age. It is deservedly considered as one of the best collections in Europe and also
the best wild olive tree collection in the world.
Several of these olive trees form part of an expressive
central display with water, bonsai trees and sculptured rocks brought from the Torcal in
Antequera. |

History highlights interest in specimens as important as the
chinese "Almez" which belonged to the same chinese familiy for five generations,
or the "Acebuche Olive" which is 300 years old. Some of these bonsai are examples of nature close to Marbella, from whose
mountains some natural miniatures have been extracted, some in danger of extinction like
the Pinsapo Pine.
The visit to the Museum is impressive and becomes a
reflection on mother nature, at the same time as offering the opportunity of enjoying
these small although great works of art, cultivated by the loving hand of their owner
Miguel Angel García. |
