In the 19th century, with the introduction of neo-classical precepts, a change in the official tastes is produced in Malaga with not very brilliant benefits. In the architecture there is a mixture of neomudejar and neocaliphal tendencies with a timid modernist vanguard. On the other hand, the pictorial school created in the capital around the Fine Arts School does give an interesting production which can be seen in the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts.
