THE GUADALHORCE RESERVOIRS

Itinerary nº 3. Access from Ardales

This itinerary can be used as an alternative for visitors coming from Malaga city, the coast and Ronda area. For those coming from Malaga and the coast, take itinerary Nº 1, the new road from the Valle del Guadalhorce, but continuing it until reaching Ardales. Visitors coming from the west of the Costa del Sol, can join this road near Cartama through Coín or Alhaurín el Grande, depending on whether they are coming from Marbella or Fuengirola respectively.

For those visitors coming from Ronda, the connection with Ardales can be reached through El Burgo, by taking the C-344 and from this town by the MA-446. There are about 17 kilometres between the two towns.

Once in Ardales, the connection with the reservoirs is reached via a narrow and difficult road until the Puerto de las Atalayas. From here to the Conde de Guadalhorce dam, the road is good and corresponds with itinerary Nº 1.
